Frequent wildfire, logging, and other human-induced disturbances have been found continuously throughout decades in the Russian Far East. However, the impacts of environmental factors, such as, topography or distances from human infrastructure around nature reserve have not been well studied. Our goal is to study the relationship between distance from roads, distance from water flow paths, and elevation and their impacts on the patterns of forest cover change at Zeya State Nature Reserve. We used classified maps of 1988, 1999, 2010, and 2016 from object-based supervised classification. The correlation between forest cover change patterns and environmental factors were then analysed using TNTmips 2017 software. Our results show that distance from roads and water flow paths and elevation has strong linkage to forest cover change patterns inside, buffer zone, and outside Zeya State Nature Reserve.
