Abstract
1. What and How to Pursue in This Study? Here I intend to clarify astronomically the conception of gardening in the Osada-hachiman-komo Shrine in Osada area, Nakatsu, Oita on the basis of the Kojiki, the Nihon-shoki the Shoku-nihonki and the Fudoki.
2. The Gist of This Divine Garden To my way of thinking, the Garden of this Osada-hachiman-komo Shrine was built by Usano Kimi Ikemori in 8 A. D. who regarded it as the compass needle of an intercontinental navigation.
In his opinion, the subject of this divine garden was “three sea gods” the conception of it, “Orion” and the formation of it, “three stars.”
