Okumotori plateau, 800-850 meters in height from the sea level, is situated about 12 kilometers from the Pacific coast in Kii peninsula. The relief feature on the surface of the plateau is mostly monatenous and peat moors are found here and there.
The topographic feature of the plateau may be a relic peneplain as Odaigaharayama and Koya-san plateau in Kii peninsula.
