A correlated light and electron (T.E.M. and S.E.M.) microscope study was made of the conducting tissue-system in the foot, seta and capsule of Dendroligotrichum dendroides and several species of Dawsonia. Some implications of these observations towards the physiology of conduction in Bryophytes and the comparative histology of Land Plants are discussed.
