Abstract
I previously reported about the ease at the armhole of the basic pattern of a dress acquired by wearing test. The present report, Part 3, deals with the shoulder. The main results obtained are as follows.
(1) In case when the front width between the shoulders is smaller than the back width between the shoulders, the difference between the actual angle of the shoulder slope of the body and the angle of the shoulder slope of the basic pattern becomes greater.
(2) In case when the measurement of the front shoulder slope is shorter than the back shoulder slope measurement, the difference between the angle of the front shoulder slope and the back shoulder slope is little.
(3) In case when the measurement of the front shoulder slope is shorter than the back shoulder slope, the shoulder point moves to the front, the angle of the back shoulder slope becomes smaller, and the shoulder darts require more space.
(4) In case when the body measurement of bust is big, the width between the shoulders of the basic pattern becomes wider.
