Abstract
Part 3 presents the actual states of structural defects and repair for structural defects which occurred in the detached houses where the 1, 204 households live. The result are roughly as follows.
1) Structural defect occurred in 76.7 % of the houses investigated.
2) The rate of occurrence of structural defect varies with the supplier. It is lowest in the houses built by carpenters or engineering firms and highest in those built by building companies specializing in houses for installment sale.
3) The attitude of the residents toward structural defects is generally such that they leave the matter as it is by considering that structural defects of a certain degree may be unavoidable. This tendency is remarkable in residents in small houses built for installment sale.
4) Troubles which give inconveniences to the daily life of the residents, such as leaking of rain or water or trouble of bath furnace are repaired by the supplier free of charge in many cases. However, it depends on supplier.
