Abstract
The purpose of this study is to obtain some information on the resemblance between the physical type data of female students and the visual evaluation of their silhouetters.
At first, we examined physical type data of 407 female students by the method of principal component analysis.
Secondly, 9 silhouetter photographies are picked out from 407 materials according to the physique classifications. The 9 silhouetter are appraised by paired-comparison method.
The results show that the visual evaluation of silhouetter seems to be identified with common understanding of the standard sensory scale.
