Abstract
With the higher average age of employees brought about by the increased compulsory retirement age, health care in enterprises has become an ever important issue. And in technologically advance society, labor saving measures mean less opportunity for physical activities as a part of daily routine. This sedentary lifestyle has led to a decrease in basic physical fitness and deterioration in health with an increased incidence of cardiovascular diseases and mortality. Given this situation helping employees stay well mean improving their morale, increasing productivity and reducing the absentee rate due to sickness. To attain these objectives, corporate fitness program as well as regular medical checkups have very important role to play.
We have reported, walking to work and other type of physical activity decreases the risk for hypertension, and regular vigorous activity at least once a week at weekends also decreases the risk for type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Regular physical activity at worksite can prevent lifestyle-related diseases for employees and furthermore the health promotion program for employees brings healthy company.
