There are so many weak points in the usual subjective audiometry of the present day, that an early appearance of the objective audiometry is seriously desired.
As the fundamental experiments on this problem, the author has investigated the human salivary conditioned reflex by Pavlov's method, applying the pure tones of the audiometer as conditional stimuli, tartaric acid solution for non-conditional one, and white noise as control. In the experiments by 6 students (male) with 10 cases of normal and 2 cases of impaired hearing, the author has confirmed the possibility of measurement of the auditory threshold with an audiometer after training and maintaining such conditional response for a long time.(author's abstract)
