Abstract
The authors have reported a case of enormous hypertrophy of lingual tonsil.
A man of 39-year-old complained foreign body sensation of throat, stridor and hoarseness for about one year. Laryngeal examination revealed caulif lowerlike masses on the both side of the base of the tongue. The operation using Takahashi's method was carried out and the masses were totally resected which weighed 6.5 gm of which from right side and 5.5 gm from left side.
Histologically, it showed hyperplasia of lymphoid tissue however, it did not show tumor-like invasion anywhere in the section. The postoperative course was uneventful.
