A 47 years old male who complained of hoarseness and slight swelling of the right lamina of the thyroid cartilage was examined. A marked bulging of the right ventricular fold was seen. The right vocal fold appeared to have mobility. although it was covered by the bulged ventricular fold. The initial clinical impression was a laryngocele. The tumor was removed and histopathological diagnosis was a giant cell tumor. Giant cell tumor of the larynx is extremely rare and it has not been reported in Japan.
