Submucous Injection of Impletol in the Inferior Turbinates as a Treatment of Nasal Allergy

Abstract
The authors observed on the effects of the submucous injection of Impletol in both inferior turbinates of the patients as a treatment for nasal allergy. The subjects were 9 cases (2 male and 7 female) in which the antigens were not found out by the allergen test. among of patients who complained of the nasal allergic symptomes. Impletol was injected 1ml to each inferior turbinate after surface anesthesia by the application of 8% xylocaine.
The results were as follows: This treatreatment brought remarkable relief of the symptomes in 3 cases, tolerable relief in 1 case and was not efficacious in 5 cases. Secondary effects by this injection therapy were nasal bleeding, cerebral anemia and intranasal exsiccation, but those were little worth consideration. This treatment is simple in technique and the pains which may give to the patients are slight. Moreover, the results are roughly satisfactory. The authors recommend to try this injection therapy as a treatment for nasal allergy.
