1) Registration system of head and neck tumors by computer was developed by way of trial. At present it is used for the control of our own cases. It is possible however to extend it to a nationwide registration in future, as the center registration number and personal collating have been considered.
2) The purposes of our tumor registration have been the retrieval and statistics of the cases as well as the calculation of the survival rates. When the registration form was designed, the necessary articles for these purposes were selected carefully and they were arranged for a form with 80 columns. The designed articles are personal identification, site and histology of tumor, month of diagndsis, month of death, month of last follow up, extent of TNM classification, main flow of treatment and some comments.
3) Regarding the 561 cases of maxillary sinus carcinoma which were treated by us from 1957 to 1973, various statistics were demonstrated.
4) Calculating methods of crude, cumulative and relative survival rates were supplementaly mentioned.
