Sjögren's syndrome is considered as a collagenous disease which is not very common among lesions of the salivary glands.
A 43-year-old female presented various clinical manifestations of this clinical entity, such as rheumatic arthritis, pharyngitis sicca and keratoconjunctivitis. An enlargement of the salivary gland which is often associated with Sjögren's syndrome was not observed in our case. Sialography of the parotid gland showed a typical inflammatory pattern and laboratory tests revealed an increase in IgM and IgG, a positive RA test, and a rapid blood sedimentation rate. She was successfully treated with administration of steroid hormon of low dosage for a month and no recurrence occurred until now, that is three months after the end of the treatment.
