Abstract
A case of mucoepidermoid carcinoma at the base of the tongue was reported. The patient was a 28-year-old woman and complained of sore throat for about three years. The tumor was surgically removed with surrounding tissue. Its size was little-finger's head size. The tumor was determined well-differentiated low grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma by histpathological examination. She has had no evidence of local recurrence and distant metastasis during 21 months after the operation. She has left no functional disorders.
According to the previous literatures, surgical excision is the treatment of the first choice for this type of carcinoma.
