砒素によつて発症したと考えられる喉頭癌の1例について

抄録

A 64 year-old man with chronic arsenical poisoning was diagnosed as having supraglottic cancer (T₂N₀M₀). The carcinogenicity of arsenicals has been clinically and epidemiologically confirmed. The laryngeal cancer which has been induced by arsenicals is extremely rare, still we believe the cause of this case is these metalloids for reasons of following described.
1) He had been exposed for a long time to the dust contaminated with arsenicals.
2) He was suffered from the chronic arsenical poisoning, including dermal neoplastic lesion (basal cell carcinoma) of trunk.
3) The tumor was present in the middle portion of the supraglottic region, where was much susceptible to the chemical stimulants.
4) He had been a light smoker. The chronic arsenical poisoning was further discussed from the otorhinolaryngological aspect.
