Abstract
Treatment of laryngeal lesions with laryngomicrosurgical technique by using side-opened direct laryngoscope and electrocoagulator is introduced. We designed a side-opened direct laryngoscope which is characterized by an opening from the anterior tip to the posterior end of the right side. The side-opened direct laryngoscope enabled easy insertion of the extra length electrode (20.5cm) to perform hemostasis by electrocoagulation through the right side opening. In this paper, the method is demonstrated with a clinical case report and discussed from the view point of the surgical manipulations of electrocoagulation that may influence postoperative results.
