Abstract
A 3-year-old boy presented with pine nuts lodged in his bronchus. The patient experienced severe cough and stridor after swallowing pine nuts. He was diagnosed with a bronchial foreign body 4 days after the event. Chest X-ray showed emphysematous change in the left lung field. A rigid bronchoscopic examina tion was performed under general anesthesia. The pine nuts were identified in the left main bronchus as viscous mush, and were removed by aspiration through a bronchoscope. The patient recovered well.
