A case of choristoma originating in the tongue which was histologically composed of bony and cartilage tissue was described.
The patient was 50 year-old male with chief complain of a painless mass in the dorsum linguae which continously increased in size of 3 years duration.
After the removal of this tumor being the size of large pea, the patient was healed completely. The choristoma arising from the dorsum linguae is rare and had not been reported in Japan. Then histological and embryological findings of this tumor were discussed.
