A series of 28 women who complained of an abnormal sensation in the throat were treated with Methermon ®-F and the clinical effects were analyzed. The overall effectiveness was excellent in 8 cases, good in 7, fair in 6 and poor in 1. Thus, the drug was clinically effective in 77.8%. The response was better in the climacteric age group than in other age groups. Kupperman's index was decreased in patients with excellent or good results. The increased in plasma concentration of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)correlated well with the clinical effect of this drug. As side effects, stomach discomfort was noted by two patients, one whom could not continue this drug.
