Abstract
Mitsubishi Kasei Kogyo Co. has put into operation the Fauser Montec-atini methane conversion plant at its Kurosaki works since the beginning of this year to produce ammonia synthesis gas from coke-oven gas.
The author reviews the reaction systems and the industrial processes for the conve-rsion of methane and their characteristics, comparing with each other.
He describes the technical and economic basis under which this process has been ad-apted together with the outline of the plant, its operating data and construction costs.
