The author described the theory and behaviour of various lubrica-ting oil additives which were classified by use into oiliness improver, corrosion inhibitor, antioxidant, detergent, defoaming agent, viscosity index improver and pour point depr-essant.He then referred to the physical problems common to many additives, for instance, existing state, mutual interaction influence on the structure of base oil and so forth.
