抄録

The combustibility of fuel oil and its related problems are important factors for the high super-charging and the improvement of the durability on marine diesel engine. Then, in this report, the general characteristics for the combustibility is explained throngh the effective rate of combustion been related by the rate of fuel in-jection, further the relation between the combustibility and the factors controlling it, such as the number, diameter and length of the fuel injection hole, the direction of fuel injection the form of combustion chamber, and the strength of the air swirl in the combustion chamber etc., and the lowering the quality of heavy oil and its related problems, such as the wears of the combustion walls, the troubles by the combustion remains etc., are mentioned on the low and medium speed diesel engines.
