In Kumano region, a lot of bark from sawmills and a lot of offal from marine processing factories generate as wastes. Bark does not burn well. Offal takes too high fuel cost to burn up due to high moisture content, and smells too bad to utilize as fertilizer. The research objective is to develop the techniques to dispose of offal and bark simultaneously, and to utilize it as fuel. This paper presents the fundamental experiments on fuel conversion of this waste biomass using middle pressure steam. Mixture of offal and fillet with bark were converted to dry biomass with thermal disposal using middle pressure steam and drastic depressurization. As a result, its heating value increased.
