The purpose of this study is to design an optimum biogas cogeneration system considering spatial distribution of heat demand and biomass resource. In this research, mixed integer linear programming (MILP) is applied to design network layout for collecting biomass and supplying heat, and to optimize the operation strategy. To include spatial boundary constraint in this model, geographical information system (GIS) is used. The results indicate that district heating network connecting both single high demand site and residential buildings is optimal. In this case, energy profit ratio (EPR) becomes approximately 3.0 by use of poultry manure instead of sewage.
