Abstract
Isothermal simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (ISO-SSF) and Non-isothermal simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (NI-SSF) were conducted using cellulose. In ISO-SSF, enzymatic hydrolysis and ethanol fermentation were performed in same reactor with constant temperature. NI-SSF was conducted by making the temperature change from 30 ℃ to 39 ℃. In ISO-SSF, fermentation started at 6 h. On the other hand, glucose was fermented at 12 h in NI-SSF. Fermentation rate in ISO-SSF was higher than that in NI-SSF.
