In order to investigate the effect of fluid dynamamics on coal liquefaction, gas holdup and liquid residence time distribution in the PSU liquefaction reactors were measured by using a differential pressure method and Neutron Atteneuting Tracer Technique (NAT). In the low gas velocity region, product yield increased with increasing in gas holdup. And the yield was correlated to the liquid mean residence time.
