In the Hyper-coal process, the residue coal (RC), which was features such as high ash content and high fuel ratio, is simulaneously produced as by- product. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the combustion characteristics of the residue coal in Hyper-coal process, compared with common bituminous coal. As a result, it was confirmed that NO_x and SO_x emission of the RC were similar to those of common bituminous coal, and the unburnt ratio of the RC was lower than those of coals which had the same fuel ratio. Moreover, the ratio of ash deposition of RC was not increased compared to that of common bituminous coal, even if the ash content of RC was high.
