Kobe Steel has developed the UBC (Upgraded Brown Coal) process. This process was demonstrated by 600t/day test facility in Indonesia. We transported the UBC produced in Indonesia to Japan and conducted a combustion test using a commercial pulverized coal-fired boiler for private power generation. Through this commercial boiler combustion test, we were able to evaluate the combustion characteristics of UBC and get actual operation records with a commercial facility.
