An S.I. engine compled with an A.C. generator was connected to a biomass gasifier from which a produced gas could be directly induced. The power for the biogas was only a half of that for gasoline. However the generating efficiency for the biogas was higher than that for gasoline. This is because the H_2 in the biogas gave higher burning velocity than that of gasoline. As well as lean burn condition.
