The Osaki CoolGen Project subsidized by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (until 2015 FY) and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (from 2016 FY) is a project with the aim of achieving an innovation low-carbon coal-fired power plant that combines Integrated Coal Gasification Fuel Cell Combined Cycle (IGFC) with CO2 capture. This project consists of three stages. In the first stage, highly-efficient oxygen-blown Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) was demonstrated. In the second stage, the IGCC with CO2 Capture process will be verified. In the third stage, a fuel cell unit is planned to be added to the IGCC in order to demonstrate an IGFC with CO2 capture. We completed the first stage demonstrated test in February 2019 and successfully achieved all development goals. Regarding the second stage, construction of the CO2 capture unit is underway to start demonstration test from late 2019.
