To utilize bamboo biomass resources that have characteristics of rapid growth rate, nearness to farmlands and abundance, a novel project of combined feedstock collection, materials and energy co-production has been initiated in Nankan Town, Kumamoto Pref. with roughly 4.5billion yen investment. In this Report 1 the project background, and the special features and questions at hand concerning bamboo collection and materials production are discussed.
