Abstract

This is a study of the Square in the ancient ages.
Firstly, the existence of the two types Squares concerning to Agrargemeinde, and the Hausgemeinde which grows obvious in Kofun-jidai are presumed.
And secondly their instances are studied. They are as follows:
1. The Square in Hausgerneinde
2. The mythological meeting place
3. The place Utagaks
4. The market place
5. The Shinto shrine
