Keiyo seaside area extending from the River Edo to the River Murata was at one time rural environment area. However, the existing condition of this area is urban environment area.
The transfiguration of the environment in this area can be classified into two stages.
The first stage occurred between 1946 and 1957. The leading characteristics of the transfiguration in the first stage was the decrease of forest and the increase of agricultural land. The second stage occurred since 1957. The transfiguration of the second stage decreased in forest and agricultural land, and urban area rapidly increased.
