Thermal behavior on core-pin of aluminum die-casting related to cooling conditions such as casting volume, core-pin diameter, cooling water pressure are investigated. It is proved that the maximum core-pin surface temperature and heat flux are approximately 820 K and 3.5 MW/m2, which varies depending on the casting conditions. Using thin wall core pin with high pressure cooling water, the maximum surface temperature would not excess solidus temperature which might cause soldering, and heat flux goes up to 7 MW/m2 more than twice compared to the normal core-pin with thick wall. And it is proved that thin wall core-pin is necessary to control the heat flow from the casting to the core pin. In case of thick wall core-pin, rate limiting factor of heat flow will be heat conductivity which is uncontrollable physical property.
