Abstract
This article describes the characteristics of the mean of, and the variance of, the "service interval" of the clerical unit of the parallel-inependent-type office, which consists of a number of clerical personnel, using I/O methods for the determination of the number of clerical personnel needed. Each number of the clerical personnel in the parallel-independent-type office is capable of doing independently, only particular linds of the "clerical variety". He is not capable of doing all lkinds of the "clerical variety". The "clerical variety" includes the processing of different kinds of forms and records, classified by the differences in the processing methods, work time, and preparing time. The mean of, and the variance of the output interval of the clerical unit are when the input interval is zero. Fromthe results of the study, the mean of the service interval is fixed value even though the input clerical unit volume is increased, also, it decreased proportionally to the multiple of the basic unit of the clerical personnel in the office, when the input-clerical-variety ratio is fixed. Moreover. the coeficient of the deviation of the service interval is a fixed value even though the input clerical volume is increased, and the coefficient increases slightly as the multiple of the basic unit of the clerical personnel in the office is incerased, where the input-clerical-variety ratio is fixed.
