The influence of heating temperature and annealing time on the crystal growth of cold rolled zinc was studied and the following two experimental expressions of the crystal growth of zinc were induced :

where A is the grain size, t the annealing time, r the reduction of thickness (%), T the heating temperature (absolute scale), Q the activation energy of crystal growth and α, a, δ, d, β, b are constants, respectively. Subsequently, we induced the following experimental expresison of the average velocity of crystal growth :

where V is the average velocity of crystal growth and q, p are constants. And the activation energy Q of the crystal growth of zinc at r=1 or r=0 was calculated from above expressions (\ efeq1), (\ efeq2), or (\ efeq3), and which was as follows : \[Q=17,00∼18,000 cal⁄mol.\]
