The Elastic Constants of Ni and Ni-Fe(fcc) Alloys

Abstract

Young’s modulus E at the magnetically saturated state was measured by a resonance frequency method, for single- and poly-crystals of Ni and Ni-Fe (fcc) alloys, and shear modulus G was also measured for the same poly-crystal specimen. Elastic parameter S_ij, elastic coefficient C_ij and shear modulus G_ijk were calculated from Young’s modulus E_ijk and compressibility κ, and these values of Ni and Ni-60%Fe alloy were as follows:
