Measurements of the Standard Free Energies of Formation of Sb₂O₃, GeO₂ and In₂O₃ by Electrochemical Method

Abstract

E.M.F. of galvanic cells with the solid electrolyte (ZrO₂+CaO) was measured to determine the standard molar free energies of formation of Sb₂O₃, GeO₂ (hexagonal), GeO₂ (tetragonal) and In₂O₃. The cells used were as follows:

\ oindentand they were compared with previously reported values. In the In-O system, e.m.f. corresponding to the formation of solid In₂O were not obtained by the titration method.
