Examination of high-efficiency operation in SRM for wind power generation

Abstract

Permanent Magnet Type Synchronous Generator or Induction Generator is used for the wind power generation system. However, Permanent Magnet Type Synchronous Generator is high material cost and Induction Generator is low efficiency. Therefore, we focus on Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) which is characterized by simple structure, toughness, and high efficiency We have studied a small size wind power generating system which uses the SRM as SRG (Switched Reluctance Generator).
