Abstract

Border roads between Ishikawa / Toyama prefectures suffered from heavy rain in July, 2008, and suspension of traffic lasted for a long term. Correspondence based on road disaster prevention inspection is performed to secure a reliable road network. In addition, prior traffic control is performed sometimes in the abnormal weather such as heavy rains. In this study, we evaluated a regulation standard rainfall value for a prior traffic control by comparing the situation of the rain with the damage to the road in this heavy rain. We also analyzed precision of the road disaster prevention inspection based on the actual damage to roads. Moreover we considered how to deal with the security of a border road between prefectures in the abnormal weather such as heavy rains.
