Abstract
Due to intense competition among convention cities, a city must enhance its own attractiveness to be selected as a convention host city. An attractive city is a city with a high attendee satisfaction, where visitors are glad to be. This study focused on convention attendee satisfaction and developed demonstratively a cause and effect model (attendee satisfaction model) regarding attendee satisfaction, and found 4 factors: encounter with local food specialties, evaluation of convention facility, attractiveness of sightseeing, and accessibility to the convention site, that are essential to raising attendee satisfaction. We then discussed implications for the convention destination marketing using the attendee satisfaction model.
