Abstract

This study aims to clarify the actual situation of inheritance and utilization of folk performing arts through internet survey, questionnaire survey and interview survey of preservation societies of folk performing arts designated as cultural property. The result reveal that preservation societies can be classified into 4 categories. Also, the preservation societies opposing regarding folk performing arts as tourism resources are hardly seen, although they don’t have any attitude of promoting the arts actively. From this study, it is implied that it is one of a plan for preservation societies to cooperate with administration in order to utilize folk performing arts.
