Abstract

In order to pass on, preserve, and utilize historical and cultural resources, which encompass a variety of resources and concepts, in a proper manner, it is necessary for not only the government but also the entire community to take part in the activities. In this study, we focused on the descendants of great men as people who have a deep relationship with their predecessors in the region and who are likely to become owners of undesignated cultural properties and bearers of cultural heritage. As a result, it became clear that the descendants of great persons have been inheriting and preserving historical and cultural resources in the region before the government took measures, that there is a difference in the perspective of history between the government and the descendants, and that the government considers the existence of the descendants to be attractive and has a cooperative system with them.
