Abstract
In recent years, the outdoor boom has revived in Japan, and glamping, which takes advantage of both campsites and hotels, is drawing particular attention. However, while many glampings have been developed, there are some facilities that deviate from what they should be. In this study, in order to understand the characteristics of glamping, the history of glampig in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan and the characteristics of current facilities were clarified. Considering that a glamping facility with a good balance of luxury, regional development, and environmental consideration is ideal, a total of 578 facilities are classified into 6 types, and it can be said that Japan has many luxury-oriented characteristics.
