Abstract
We recently have more reports about trouble concerning treatment of clothes which may be caused by change of social conditions, technological innovation and oversupply of information.
Labeling is useful information for consumers so that they can judge the quality of clothes and can use them safely.
Regarding this, we did research in various areas including manufacturers marketing and came to a conclusion that further promotion of consumer education is essential by all parties
concerned.
From this point, we propose as follows:
1) Administrators should make concrete and updated information activities including proper instructions.
2) Private companies should introduce an accurate and simple labeling.
3) Consumers should learn scientific knowledge and should train themselves to use proper judgment.
Besides, international agreement under the promulgation of international standard (ISO 3758) is urgently required.
