Abstract
Since 1978, when the reform and opening up policy had implemented, consumer problems occured frequently and have been actulized as the marketing economy is proceeding in China. It is a new challenge of schools to educate children as consumers with self-consciousness and responsibility to deal with such problems. In this article, the researcher tried to clarify the further questions of school consumer education aiming at making consumer education programs for the primary and secondary school level in China. Then, the questionnaire about consumer consciousness and behavior were conducted on students from elementary to high school in China and Japan. Finally, by comparing and analying this data, the researcher intends to show the direction being taken in making programs in the context of the actual situation of children in China.
