Abstract
Tetragonal crystals of hen egg-white lysozyme were grown at 18℃ in a strong magnetic field of 6T. Before equilibrium, they were taken out of the field and the temperature was increased at the same time. Macroscopic steps grew from the (101) surfaces toward the c-axis direction. The experience of the strong magnetic field in the early stage of the crystal growth is cconsidered to affect the subsequent growth.
