抄録
The Surface Instability of icicle is studied under the fluid and thermal diffusion effects. The thermal diffusion into the air provides Laplace instability, and the effect of fluid which makes temperature distribution uniform suppresses the fluctuations with shorter wave length just like Gibbs-Thomson effect. These two effects give the specific wavelength as its surface wave. The effect of surface tension is also discussed.
