Abstract
A recently developed experimental method of producing quantum dots covered with a carbon layer has been applied to Ni and Sn clusters to make carbon-coated materials. Ni clusters with the size of 2〜40nm embedded in amorphous carbon with size of 10nm order have been selectively produced by control of inert gas pressure. Sn clusters having the low melting points were also produced with the size of 5〜50nm embedded in amorphous carbon.
